I'll be placing our first book order on Saturday. I hope you've had a chance to check out some of the awesome books that are available in the flyer. Remember, the easiest way to order is online (you can click the link below). Our class activation code is ND3VG. Books will be shipped directly to school and sent home with your child (if it's a surprise, or gift, just let me know and I'll coordinate with you so I can get them to you another way). Also, if our class orders $50 in books in this order EVERY child in our class will receive a special Elephant and Piggie book!!!!!

To help us connect with our study of animal habitats and the caterpillars/butterflies we've had in our classroom, we took a trip to the Fairbanks Museum to see their butterfly habitat and talk about their life cycle. We are excited to study and compare many different animal habitats this year.
Our first field trip of the year was a complete success! It was a beautiful day and Kinders had a fantastic time at the Great Vermont Corn Maze. Thank you to all our chaperones for your help (and for sharing your pictures with us).
Kinders have been studying animal habitats and today was an exciting day because our first butterfly emerged from its chrysalis! We were able to release it into its natural habitat just before lunch. It was so amazing to watch it take flight for the first time. (Check out our video) Then, this afternoon our ants arrived! My friend Ms Robb came in and helped us get their habitat ready for them. Kinders are very excited to watch these animals and learn about why different animals need different habitats. Tomorrow is our first field trip of the year! We are very excited to visit the Great Vermont Corn Maze tomorrow. Please remember to send your child in comfortable clothing and sneakers. It's supposed to be another nice, sunny day. Our bus departs Danville School at 10:45am. If you are chaperoning we ask that you please come at 10:30 and wait for us in the lobby until we are ready to board the bus. Don't forget to pack a lunch for your child (and yourself) unless you have ordered one from the school cafeteria. Stay tuned for pictures!
Wow - it's been a busy 13 days in Kindergarten! We've been learning about our friends, school, classroom, and learning tools. We're having a lot of fun together and starting to grow our brains. It's going to be a great year full of wonder, curiosity, challenges, and growth. I look forward to working with you to help your child have an amazing year in Kindergarten! Check out our video to take a peek at what we've been up to.
