Gingerbread Houses

On Tuesday, December 20th, Kinders will make a gingerbread house to give to their secret gingerbread friend!  All Kinders will make and receive a gingerbread house. Please click the link below to view the sign up along with some important details about this event. **We have students with peanut/tree nut allergies, so please use the brands listed on the sign up or check the labels before sending items in,**

Ornament Making

On Tuesday, December 13th we will be working with Bentley's Bakery to make these adorable cupcake ornaments!  In order to make this fun Holiday activity possible, we are in need of some supplies.  Please check the sign up below to see if you are able to send in any of the items we are looking for.  Thanks!

A Special Visitor

It’s December in Kindergarten and that means it’s time for gingerbread!  Over the next few weeks we will be incorporating gingerbread into our learning and Gingy has come to join in the fun. Each night this month, one Kinder will get to bring Gingy home for the night.  The assignment is to have fun and do some things with Gingy.  Then, Kinders will write a narrative on the special paper provided about their adventure with Gingy.  Please let your child do the writing! These Kinders are becoming great authors and they are doing an amazing job of stretching out their words and writing the sounds they hear. You may help as needed with tricky words and sounds, but please encourage them to do their own writing and spelling.

December is a very short month here at school, and we have just enough days for every Kinder in our class to take Gingy home for one night.  This means it is extremely important that Gingy is returned to school the very next day. I’d love to make a slideshow of pictures showing everyone’s adventure with Gingy, so if you want to email me a few pictures, or post them on our facebook page,  I would love it!

Thank you for your support in making this happen for our Kinders. This is such a fun activity and I can’t wait to read all about Gingy’s adventures this year!
